Selli Shopify App — Processing of Merchant and Customer Data
This section applies to the Selli app installed on Shopify stores, and to the personal data of the merchant’s customers and store visitors that Selli processes on the merchant’s behalf. For this data, the merchant is the data controller and Selli Solutions acts as a data processor, processing it only to provide the app’s functionality.
6.1 What we process from the store
- Customer contact and order information submitted at checkout — name, email, phone, and shipping/billing address, along with order details (items, totals, currency). Used to power merchant features such as abandoned-checkout recovery and order/customer analytics.
- Storefront interaction data — page views, search queries, product and cart events, clicks, cursor movement, and (where the merchant enables heatmaps or session recordings) a reconstruction of pages a visitor viewed. This is associated with a pseudonymous, per-browser identifier provided by Shopify — not a name or account we create.
6.2 What we do NOT collect
- We do not capture checkout, login, registration, or customer-account pages in session recordings or heatmaps.
- User-entered form field values are masked before storage, and email addresses and phone numbers appearing in page text are masked.
- We do not execute or store storefront JavaScript from recordings.
6.3 How we use it
Solely to provide the merchant with analytics, insights, heatmaps, session replay, and abandoned-checkout recovery. We do not sell personal data.
6.4 Storage, security, and sub-processors
Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States. It is encrypted at rest and transmitted over HTTPS, access is limited to authorized personnel, and it is partitioned per store.
6.5 Retention
- Customer contact and order personal data is retained for up to 12 months, after which personal identifiers are anonymized or deleted.
- Session recordings are retained for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted.
6.6 Your rights and data deletion
Merchants and their customers may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data. We honor Shopify’s data-protection (GDPR) webhooks — shop redaction, customer redaction, and customer data requests — so data is erased on request and when the app is uninstalled.
